Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Staff have regular training in safeguarding procedures, and they are well aware of their responsibilities to protect pupils from harm. Adults know what to do if they have any concerns about a pupil. They make timely referrals to leaders who act on these swiftly.

Staff know pupils and their families well. They are alert to any changes in pupils’ behaviour that may indicate a potential issue. Leaders work with families and a range of external agencies to identify and manage any potential safeguarding concerns.

Pupils appreciate the support that they receive from their teachers. They understand how to keep themselves safe, including when online.

Safeguarding

At Manor Primary School, ensuring all children are protected from harm in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment is our highest priority. The welfare and safety of every child is paramount.

We maintain a strong culture of vigilance, supported by clear lines of responsibility, robust procedures, and comprehensive staff training. We foster an open, listening environment where children feel secure, heard, and valued. This culture is embedded through our everyday relationships, pastoral support, designated learning spaces and partnership with external agencies.

Through our tailored curriculum, we equip children with the knowledge and life skills they need to stay safe—both in person and online.

Please note: Where staff have reason to believe a child may be at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect, the school has a statutory duty to follow local multi-agency safeguarding procedures and share concerns with Children's Social Care.

The Prevent Duty & British Values

In line with section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (the Prevent Duty), Manor Primary School has a statutory responsibility to prevent children from being drawn into terrorism and radicalisation. We recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation is just as critical as safeguarding against any other form of risk.
